JECO MotorSports Results From CNS’ Challenge Cup XXXII

September 16, 2006 - Denver, CO

On a very cold and windy Colorado evening, a few thousand die-hard race fans braved
the elements to watch the September 16th running of Colorado National Speedway’s
Challenge Cup XXXII. JECO MotorSports and the #08 Dodge Intrepid driven by Bear Lynch were
there to help heat up the nights events.

With seven divisions slated to run, the format of the evening was altered slightly from
it’s normal course. To shorten an already crowded schedule, B-mains (or qualifying races)
were eliminated. Each division would qualify, then proceed directly to it’s A-main Feature
event, with the line-up being based on a pill-draw inversion from the qualifying times.
The JECO MotorSports Dodge began the evening with a solid qualifying time of 16.395 seconds,
placing Lynch 8th quick of the 29 late models on hand. The time earned the #08 Dodge a
spot in the evenings one and only trophy dash, in which Bear Lynch finished in 3rd place
behind the #83 of Jim Sikes Jr. and the # 54 of Joe James Jr.

For the 100-Lap Feature event of the evening, the weather did not let up. Relentless winds
and chilling temperatures proved a handful for both veteran and rookie drivers. A cold and
dirty track surface made for some ill-handling racecars. The event saw several caution
flags fly for vehicles spinning out without any contact. Starting in the fifth position,
Bear Lynch battled with leaders until contact with another vehicle early in the race upset
the suspension and handling of the JECO MotorSports Dodge. A long series of 20-30 lap green
flag runs followed by brief cautions was the routine for the rest of the event. In what
was nearly a mirror image of a feature event two weeks prior, Lynch battled back and forth
with fellow drivers #31 Rick Smith, #74 Dan Savage, and #95 Cris Muhler just behind the
lead pack of cars. The #5 of Scotty Backman ended up being the first of 29 cars to take
the checkered flag while Lynch’s #08 machine settled in for an 11th place finish on the
evening.

Bear Lynch drives for JECO MotorSports, a Primarily Un-Sponsored Late Model, ProTruck,
Figure-8, and Super Stock team out of Denver, CO. Associate sponsors the team would like
to thank are Arizona Bag Co., Spitfire Racing Engines, and Dyno Pro Inc.
