JECO MotorSports Results From CNS’ Labor Day Weekend Shoot-Out September 5, 2006 - Denver, CO Rachel Dickinson – JECO MotorSports Labor Day weekend saw JECO MotorSports compete in it’s Late Model, ProTruck, and Figure-8 divisions at Colorado National Speedway’s two-day event. The premier features of the weekend belonged to the Late Models, who competed in (2) 50-lap main events during the course of the holiday weekend. Saturday night saw the #08 Dodge Intrepid, driven Bear Lynch qualify in 10th spot amongst the twenty-five car field. Strong runs in both the B-main and Feature event brought home dual 3rd place finishes. Lynch battled with the #74 of Dan Savage for the first 5 laps of the feature, then took the lead just before a caution flag flew on lap 6. Bear continued to carry a strong lead of the field through lap 40. The #61 of Chris Archer battled with #08 Dodge for several laps until the pair came upon slower lapped traffic. Lynch attempted the low line around the lapped cars, while Archer took the high side. Archer came out ahead coming out of turn 4, and continued to lead the next 10 laps to take the win. Getting edged by a nose by the #5 of Scotty Backman, Bear Lynch came in third at the checkered flag. Rounding out the top five were the #27 of Roger Avants and the #74 of Savage. In Saturday night’s Figure-8 action, JECO MotorSports team owner, Jim Egli placed his car 11th in the qualifying order. The Figure-8 B-main saw a close chase for the lead in the ending laps by Egli while battling with fellow competitor Al Duran in the #23. The pair both run power plants by Spitfire Racing Engines, and Duran edged out Egli at the stripe for the B-main win. The Figure-8 Feature line-up placed Egli starting deep in the pack in 14th position. #90, John Johnson took an emotional win in the event in remembrance of his late Father, racer John Black. Egli’s hard charge from the rear of the field carried him up to finish 8th place in the event. Sunday for JECO MotorSports started out solid with a third place qualifying effort by Bear Lynch in the JECO MotorSports new #08 Dodge ProTruck. This is the first time the truck has seen racing action since being built. A strong race with the “fast pack” in the trophy dash brought Lynch to the stripe in fifth spot. Starting middle of the pack for the ProTruck feature, the #08 ran strong in the early laps, but seemed to fade by the end of the event. The #07 of Chris “Spiffy” Leaf took the victory in the 30-lap event. Lynch brought his machine home in the 11th spot. The JECO team will be carefully going over the ProTruck this week in hopes to work out any small bugs on the new machine and look forward to a great finish next weekend. In Sunday’s second 50-lapper of the weekend for the Late Model division, qualifying results were a near mirror image of Saturday with Bear posting an 11th place spot in times. A great run in the second B-main of the evening saw Lynch take the victory, well ahead of the pack. Feature action started the #08 in the 12th spot of the 22 car field. Lengthy greens and a spread out field proved for great smaller battles within the pack, but not much room for advancement. In dueling back and forth with the #66 of Darren Bucklen, and the #74 of Dan Savage nearly the entire race, Lynch finished in the 10th position at the stripe. The #61 of Chris Archer took the evenings win. Bear Lynch drives for JECO MotorSports, a Primarily Un-Sponsored Late Model, ProTruck, Figure-8, and Super Stock team out of Denver, CO.
